Why are the whales not bigger?

Both toothed and baleen whales are some of the largest animals to ever exist. Researchers have little idea what actually limits their size. In a new published study, it is shown that whale size is limited by the largest whales efficient feeding strategies, which enables them to take in a lot of calories compared to the energy they burn while foraging.
