Microplastics Found in Every Marine Mammal Surveyed

A study conducted in the United Kingdom found that stranded porpoises, dolphins, and seals had an average of 5.5 particles of microplastic in their guts. Nylon made up 60% of the plastics, possibly from fishing nets, clothing fibers, and tooth brush bristles. The ocean is becoming "a soup of plastic particles" and marine mammals have no choice but to ingest it. Click here to learn more about it.
