Climate Change and Gray Whales

This article by National Geographic talks about why so many gray whales are dying in the Pacific. Their population declined by nearly a quarter between 2016 and 2020. They noticed that whales have appeared malnourished, the birth rates declined, and more whales have been washing up dead along the shore. Some of the early research as to why this is happening points to climate change. This is because the ocean is warming up which may be reducing the whales’ supply of food. There may be other factors as well. Click here to read the whole article.
